Hurstville $200m development set to be future Australian icon
With views over Hurstville, Botany Bay and the city skyline, Piety THP’s new $200 million Imperial Hurstville mixed use development is an elegant study in luxury living. Stanisic Architects, Imperial’s soon-to-be-iconic two towers are interlinked to minimise its size in the Hurstville City Centre and optimise light and ventilation to living spaces.

Externally, the design follows a precious metal theme. Balconies to the north overlooking Treacy Street are fitted with a golden metal ‘jacket’ that acts as an environmental filter to screen living areas and bedrooms from the hot summer sun and reduce heat loss in winter. Continuing the golden leitmotif, side walls and sky garden recesses will feature vivid, burnt yellow hues that reflect the sun.
The five-star styled main lobby boasts bronze metal feature walls and 6-metre-high ceilings, natural stone flooring and a crystal-like light pendant. Apartment lobbies, shops and a community room activate a generous pedestrian terrace at ground level.
Extensive green spaces bring the outdoors in – a podium courtyard, two skygardens and a roof terrace offer ample opportunity for social connection between residents and break out spaces for quiet contemplation.
Inside the luxury apartments, most kitchens feature island benches with stone benchtops, AEG appliances and generous spaces. Bathroom benches continue the stone theme complemented by tiled splashbacks and LED lighting. Using the latest ‘low hanging’ vanities has created abundant storage space.
Imperial Hurstville will launch on November 8 2014 with construction to commence June 2015 Completion is expected in June 2017.
